If food be the fuel of life, let me eat on. Okay, another PP excuse for failed diet plans lol!

Just give me FOO'D! My head was ringing that repeatedly as I made my way over to FOO'D by Davide Oldani, a new Italian fine-dining restaurant that has opened at the Victoria Theatre & Concert Hall last December.

With high ceiling, majestic columns, and well-spaced tables, the grandeur of FOO'D's interior is befitting of the beautiful, historic site that it sits on.

Wheeler's Estate @ Seletar Aerospace Park ~ Another Instagrammable Café By Folks Behind Wheeler's Yard

Perhaps it is the everyday hustle bustle of working and living in the city that makes me yearn for some respite from the concrete jungle, so off we went to the rather ulu (remote) Wheeler's Estate at Seletar Aerospace Park.

Ahhh... A café nestled in a former British military airbase-turned heritage building surrounded by lots of greenery. I like!

It seems that the folks behind Wheeler's Estate has a pretty good knack for creating instagrammable spaces. They are also the ones who brought us Wheeler's Yard, the bicycle-themed café set in an industrial warehouse at Balestier. Who doesn't know about its iconic, striking-blue vintage door, the backdrop to numerous #OOTD shots?

HANSUL Korean Dining Bar @ Tanjong Pagar Road ~ Enjoy Mini Hwaro Charcoal Grill, Budae Jjigae & Makgoelli Till 6am!

What? Another new Korean joint along the Korean restaurants-dominated stretch of Tanjong Pagar Road? Isn't the area quite saturated already?

Well, apparently there's always space for at least one more, and it looks like the recently-opened Hansul Korean Dining Bar is pretty confident about what it has to offer in order to set itself apart from the competition.

"Hansul", which means "bottoms up" in Korean, carries an extensive range of Soju, Makgeolli, Cheongju and Korean Cocktails, some of which are highly exclusive.

There is also the mini "Hwaro" or table charcoal grill which is said to be taking Korea by storm now. Jinja?!

Azuma Sushi Japanese Restaurant @ Tanjong Pagar Centre ~ Casual, Fast-Service Dining Option In CBD

Azuma Sushi Japanese Restaurant is Edo Ichi Group's first venture out of Malaysia and it has landed on the shores of Singapore just a month ago.

The casual, fast-service dining joint found its place in the new Tanjong Pagar Centre; Not just any building, but currently the tallest building in Singapore at 290m!

Its menu is so nicely done and extensive, we were spoilt for choice in deciding what to order.

Tokyo Chopped Salad @ Millenia Walk ~ Chef Teppei Opens Japanese Chopped Salad Shop! Chop, Chop, Chop, Wait, Wait, Eat!

Since I am on a diet and constant lookout for new salad shops in Singapore because #NewYearResolution #100DaysOfSHOU, I was initially very excited when I heard about Tokyo Chopped Salad.

Such a refreshing idea.

Opened at Millenia Walk, this is the first chopped salad brand in Singapore developed by the award-winning chef Teppei Yamashita. He is the owner of Teppei Japanese Restaurant, Teppei Syokudo, and Man Man Unagi Restaurant.

Kuro-Obi by Ippudo @ MBS ~ A Ramen Takeaway Concept Store! Ramen On The Go!

Ramen fans rejoice! Starting from 13th January this year, there is one more place where you can satisfy your ramen cravings..... Kuro-Obi at Marina Bay Sands!

Launched by Ippudo, Kuro-Obi's concept is of a takeaway store where service is promised to be quick without comprising on the quality of ramen.

No time to join the snaking queues at Ippudo? Want to enjoy a warm meal on the go? Kuro-Obi sounds like the perfect solution.

Daejon House 대전집 @ Havelock II ~ New Korean Restaurant Specializing In Noodles!

Oh! That moment when you insanely craved for Champong while watching Legend Of The Blue Sea as the mermaid in reel life slurped down a huge bowl! That Korean spicy seafood noodle soup is one thing which looked more delicious than Heo Joon Jae (played by Lee Min Ho). Lol!

Perhaps my gluttonous cries were heard as not long after, we got to know that Daejon House 대전집 has recently opened at Havelock II, specializing in..... Korean noodles!

The casual Korean restaurant is said to be the only place in Singapore where you can have beef bone soup base Champong!

Golden Peony @ Conrad Centennial Singapore ~ Chinese New Year (CNY) 2017 Menu Highlights

As Lunar Year of Monkey will soon swing away and the Fire Roaster is all set to move into 2017, that delicious Roast Suckling Pig from Golden Peony is staying put! Yay! It's not going anywhere but our tummies! Lol!

For this reason and also to check out their other festive offerings (available 10th January to 11th February 2017), we headed once again to Golden Peony, the fine Cantonese restaurant located at level 3 of Conrad Centennial Singapore.

"Food must be delicious. Pricing cannot be too high. Must have air-con because we don't want to sweat. Must be in a centralized location for everyone's convenience. Good if directly connected to a mrt station. Even better if parking is easy. Takes reservation because nobody has time to wait in queue. Place must be quite new."

You can imagine our long where-to-meet, where-to-eat conversation in our whatsapp group chat. Anyone else also experienced the moment when you woke up to 100+ unread messages? Lol!

But finally, a place which fits all the above criteria! Soon Huat Dining House 順發美食之家 is the place! The casual dining restaurant has recently opened (December 2016) on level 2 of Chinatown Point.

HATTENDO Café Singapore 八天堂 @ Tanjong Pagar Centre ~ Those Famous Little Cream Buns Of Happiness From Japan Have Arrived!

After 18 stores in Japan and several outlets in South Korea, Taiwan and Philippines, Japan's famous chilled cream buns HATTENDO 八天堂 (established in Hiroshima since 1933) have finally arrived in Singapore.

The café at level one of Tanjong Pagar Centre (directly connected to Tanjong Pagar mrt station EW15) officially opened its door on 3rd January 2017 with a capacity of 38 seats, and also includes a counter for takeways.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I made my way over after a heavy lunch. My stomach was almost bursting. Will I still enjoy the buns? Just how good can it be?

After taking my first bite, my verdict is: The cream bun "wasn't good" at all..... it was GREAT!!!

Yuki Onna @ Far East Square ~ Rice Bowls & Japanese-Inspired Comfort Food In The CBD

Donburi or rice bowl might not be considered the trendiest food around but it is certainly one of the most convenient, comforting and satisfying one-dish meal with staying power.

Yes? Yes? Ask the lunch crowd at Yuki Onna, and they probably will agree.

Yuki Onna at Far East Square does serve up quite a decent selection of donburis, and described itself as "a quaint izakaya dishing up Japanese-inspired comfort food in the heart of CBD",

What would bring people out to this quiet neighbourhood of Greenwood Avenue where Fratini La Trattoria is tucked in? Unpretentious Italian food with a hospitable touch by head chef, Chomel Yang.

Just 25 years of age, Chomel’s first taste of success in F&B was when she was able to pay off her NTU university tuition fees from the sale of her homemade desserts. This led to her pursuing a diploma course at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in London, and then helming Fratini La Trattoria since January 2016.

This is perhaps one of the best places in Singapore to experience a taste of Italy when you have no money for the airfare.

The fine-dining establishment at Resort World Sentosa is best known for its French haute cuisine, fronted by celebrity chef Joël Robuchon who is the world's most decorated Michelin-star chef and a legend in the culinary world.

With 26 restaurants, pastry boutiques and bars in more than 10 cities, as well as a string of awards and cookbooks, I guess most of you would have heard of the Robuchon name at some point.
