Hokkaido Sushi Japanese Ala-Carte Buffet @ M Hotel, Tanjong Pagar ~ Fantastic Value For Under $50++!

Many a times I'm hesitant about going for buffets, because the tendency to overeat is detrimental to my diet plans and also, having to make multiple trips to the buffet line for the food is too tiring. Too greedy. Too lazy. Lol!

Then comes Hokkaido Sushi Restaurant's Japanese Ala-carte Buffet.

Having dishes prepared a la minute and sent straight to my table? A good selection that caters to my preference for variety? Decent quality that's worth the calories? A "full"-filling meal that wouldn't break my wallet? All checked. I'm sold.

Menya Takeichi @ Eat At Seven, Suntec City ~ Tokyo's Number 1 Chicken Ramen Chain Is Now In Singapore!

No pork, no lard, not tonkotsu. It's all about chicken! I'm talking about one of the latest Japanese noodle houses to hit Singapore, Ramen Takeichi!

Joining the multi-food concept, Eat At Seven, at Suntec City mall, Menya Takeichi's specialty is in ramen luxuriating with collagen-rich chicken broth.

The restaurant shot to popularity after being featured in Japan's TV Asahi in September 2012, and went on to open 40 stores in Japan in just four years. It is said that patrons have to queue for hours to get into the outlets.

Tokyo Sundubu @ Eat At Seven, Suntec City ~ Delicious Collagen-rich Tofu Stew!

Tokyo Sundubu has recently opened at Suntec City within Eat At Seven, a gastronomic heaven which brings seven different Japan's top food concept under one roof.

What is Tokyo Sundubu?

I initially thought of it as a culinary confusion of Japanese + Korean fusion, but sundubu turned to be simply a dish of hearty, collagen-rich Korean tofu stew that found popularity in Japan. Tokyo Sundubu has 35 outlets in Japan alone!

Crab Corner 蟹天王 @ FairPrice Hub, Joo Koon ~ Where You Can Have An Ala-Carte Buffet Feast At Only $28.80++

"Who wants to eat SALTED EGG YOLK CRABS?" Me! Me! Me!

It was a common love for this dish that the few of us ventured into the far far land "where-鸟不生蛋-birds-don't-lay-eggs" but hold promises of a crab feast flowing abundantly. With a couple of salted egg yolk dishes included of course hehee <3 <3 <3

I'm talking about Crab Corner 蟹天王, a seafood restaurant situated on level 3 within FairPrice Hub at Joo Koon, the most western terminus of the east-west line. To be fair, its location isn't as remote as we initially thought. The train journey was actually rather fast when traveling from Redhill or Woodlands area.

Besides, the building is very accessible being directly connected to the mrt station. No worries of being caught in unpredictable showers of rain.

999.99 Five Nines @ Keong Saik Road ~ Modern European Restaurant Sets The Gold Standard

There are no 999.99 gold bars for purchase at the recently-opened 999.99 (Five Nines) restaurant along Keong Saik Road, but you'd find a repertoire of modern European dishes waiting to get into your tummy instead.

If you're wondering how the name came about then, it's because the owner came from a precious metal industry background where 999.99 is the finest form of gold and is considered the gold standard.

The team at 999.99 holds themselves to this in serving food in its purest form in quality, service and presentation, priding itself on its ability to serve guests luxury ingredients at affordable prices.

Hokkaido Izakaya @ Tanjong Pagar ~ For That Boisterous Japanese Izakaya Experience!

Was on my way to Hokkaido Izakaya for dinner when I bumped into a friend who was queuing for Tendon Ginza Itsuki (both restaurants are neighboring units along Tanjong Pagar Road).

"Please let me know if it's good". Chloe, if you're reading this, the dining experience at Hokkaido Izakaya was agreeable in most parts. Overall, it's worth a visit.

Though izakayas are essentially Japanese casual drinking joints and Hokkaido Izakaya does carry an extensive beverage list of wine, sake as well as beer, the focus here is also very much on food which feature quality produce directly sourced from Hokkaido, namely the cities of Yakumo, Akkeshi, Furano and Kamishihoro.

Patisserie Platine By Waku Ghin @ RISE Lounge, MBS ~ Do Not Leave Without Trying The Ghin Cheese Cake!

Waku Ghin is affordable afterall!..... erm..... I mean, their pastries haha!

Recently ranked 6th on Asia's Best Restaurant 2016 list, Waku Ghin by celebrity chef Tetsuya Wakuda is undoubtedly one of the top dining destinations in Singapore. A meal at the award-winning modern Japanese establishment doesn't come cheap though (i.e. by my standards). Its 10-course degustation menu is priced at $400++ per person.

Patisserie Platine by Waku Ghin
offers a glimpse into the culinary success of the restaurant, with a lineup of exclusive dessert selection available for takeaway and dine-in at RISE lounge located at the lobby of Marina Bay Sands Hotel.
