Nobiro Japanese Restaurant & Sake Bar @ Faber Drive, Clementi ~ What A Gem!

The laidback residential estate of Faber Hill within Clementi has a delicious secret, Nobiro Japanese Restaurant & Sake Bar.

Opened in May 2015, the izakaya-style restaurant has been quietly serving up an array of Japanese dishes including sashimi and grill delights, as well as omakase specials to the residents living nearby, steadily building a reputation that deemed it to be worth a visit.

So I ventured into the ulu-ness, and was rewarded with a satisfying meal.

Geometry, A Gelato Café At Bukit Merah ~ Pretty Gelato On A Tart!

Back in school, the word 'geometry' is one of the most scariest ever for a mathematics dummy like me. Now, I can't wait to lap it all up! Because 'geometry' has taken on the delicious edible form of gelato! Haha!

Geometry has opened in the heartlands of Bukit Merah, specializing in freshly-made gelato with no artificial preservatives or ingredients, and paired with handcrafted pastries.

Recipes are akin to formulas, combination of ingredients require precision like equations, hence the name of this ice cream parlor. Very cheem profound hor...

When Shuxian, one of the owners, told us that she majored in mathematics, we went, "ahh... no wonder!"

Sprout Salad Bar @ Duxton Road, Tanjong Pagar ~ Great Salads, Hipster Vibes But Comparatively Expensive

When in doubt, eat at Sprout? Sounds like a great idea..... because we know for sure that a salad-centric meal at Sprout Salad Bar will be healthier than the typical (but ooh why-so-delicious?) fare at a hawker centre.

But to overcome temptation from the numerous yummy Korean fried chicken shops that dot the vicinity of Duxton and Tanjong Pagar where Sprout is nestled can be quite a challenge haha.

Still, Sprout has charmed its way into this PinkyPiggu's tummy with an array of delicious, winsome salads. Its premises makes a noteworthy mention as well. Bright, spacious, and I especially like the corner where glass ceiling allows in streams of uplifting sunshine.

Certainly a place deserving of frequent visits. If only the salad bowls can be priced a little lower.

Hello Kitty Orchid Garden Singapore Café Lands At Changi Airport Terminal 3! It Opens 24/7!

Hellooooooo! Hello Kitty Café has arrived in Singapore!

Named Hello Kitty Orchid Garden, the café opened its doors at Changi Airport Terminal 3 Arrival Hall on 12 May 2016. Not only is this Singapore's first themed café starring the iconic character by Sanrio, it is also the world's first Hello Kitty café that opens 24-hours, all days of the week!

We can also take pride that the Singapore's Hello Kitty mascot is the only one in the world with an unique double bow!

Our visit was pretty much a happy one with an array of "Kitty-fied" food that was, thankfully, more palatable than expected. The café setting itself is exceedingly pleasing with a lovely floral fragrance greeting us as we approached the space decked with both everlasting as well as fresh orchids.

Expect warm sunlight streaming into the main dining space if you visit during the day, the classy ambience at night is no less lovely too.

Mo'mor Izakaya By W.Martin @ Tanglin Post Office ~ Check Out This Restaurant For Affordable Japanese-European Grub!

There is a better reason to make a trip to Tanglin Post Office these days. Not for running errands of course, but to check out the building's latest tenant, Mo'mor Izakaya!

Rather than being a typical Japanese drinking joint, Mo'mor is more of a contemporary izakaya concept with Japanese-European inspired elements as evidently shown in both its food and premises.

Embrace the inviting alfresco area for under-the-stars dining with much passion, or seek air-conditioned comfort within the modern and minimalist interior. Either way, both sets as a cozy backdrop to enjoy delectable tapas and grills at affordable prices. Set Lunch is at only $15++ or $18++ for 2 or 3-courses!

Plane Daze, A Café @ The Nobel Hotel, Jalan Besar ~ Plainly In A Daze

On their facebook page, Plane Daze described itself as, "Café located in a hotel; Comfort food at its best".

Plane Daze wasn't easy to spot in the first place, being nestled within The Nobel Hotel along Jalan Besar without any prominent signage. When it's finally found, imagine my surprise when I was told by the hotel receptionist, "sorry, this café is meant for hotel guests only". Huh?

The initial misunderstanding was quickly cleared after a call was made to clarify that the café is indeed opened to public, but..... were there any other customers who have been turned away this way? Ouch.
