Modus Quinoa Bowls @ Esplanade Xchange Food Inn ~ Cheap, Tasty, Healthy & Nutritious!

Thanks to Modus, clean, healthy and delicious eating is actually possible in a foodcourt!

Foodcourts are usually my least preferred choice when it comes to dining out (don't really fancy the mostly generic stalls, nondescript and sometimes overpriced offerings), but the game is now changing. We certainly didn't expect to see Modus, a foodcourt stall within Esplanade Xchange Food Inn that specialize in quinoa bowls!

Yes! Quinoa, the grain that is touted as a fiber and protein-rich superfood with benefits of aiding weight loss, promoting cell recovery, increasing metabolism and a host of other health benefits.

SENS @ Raffles Holland Village ~ New Japanese Restaurant Located Within TASTE Gourmet Grocer

Customers doing their shopping at gourmet grocer TASTE would probably have noticed the new addition that recently-opened in late March: SENS!

Located at the basement of Raffles Holland Village (accessible via Exit A of Holland Village Mrt CC21), the cozy 42-seater dining joint is easy to spot. It is here where a wide repertoire of Japanese delights such as sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, tempura and yakitori can be enjoyed.

We can also grab ingredients from TASTE and have the chefs at SENS whipped up a meal for us. Charges are at $8 for every 100 grams of ingredients which can be pan-seared, charcoal-grilled or prepared tataki-style.

Be Frank Hotdogs @ Orchard Paragon ~ Gourmet Hotdogs With A Variety Of Toppings & Raclette Cheese!

Let's be frank about it. Who doesn't love sausages?!

This drums up the excitement when news broke that Be Frank has opened two weeks ago at the basement of Paragon Shopping Centre. The kisok might be a humble setup, but is conceptualized to serve gourmet hotdogs topped with a variety of toppings including..... Raclette cheese!

The striking electric blue and pastel pink hues of the stall front is hard to miss.

Firebake - Woodfired Bakehouse & Restaurant @ East Coast Road ~ The Place To Get Artisanal Breads!

Give us this day our daily bread! For many people, they do mean that literally. I don't think I'm alone in growing up in a household where bread is one of our favorite breakfast staples.

With the opening of Firebake - Woodfired Bakehouse & Restaurant at East Coast Road, bread takes on an artisanal front. All of that doughy goodness are made using European historical techniques of breadmaking, and churned out from a full-scale woodfire bread oven. Probably the first in Singapore!

Yes, Firebake has come to the Yeast!

Birds Of A Feather @ Amoy Street ~ Contemporary Western Sichuan Food In A Beautiful Garden-Like Setting

There is this quote which goes "People who love to eat are always the best people". I guess the group of us foodies are the best then as we flocked to Birds Of A Feather..... to eat of course! Lol!

The all-day dining, café and bar nestled along Amoy Street is inspired by the idea of people flocking together as birds do. Its food is described to be contemporary Western cuisine with a pronounced Sichuan influence.

I heard numerous positive reviews about the place since its opening at the end of last October, so was pretty excited to make this visit to try their offerings from the new expanded menu, as well as the recently-launched Weekend Chirpy Brunch.

SBCD Korean Tofu House @ Tanjong Pagar Centre ~ Delicious Soontofu With Soft & Silken Beancurd!

We love tofu. All the more reason to love it when it's soontofu!

Essentially a soft beancurd stew in Korean cuisine, "soon" in "soontofu" means soft. It is also known as "sundubu" or "soondubu".

SBCD Korean Tofu House which opened earlier this year offers diners a chance to savor hand-made, soft and silken tofu that is freshly-prepared every morning using soybeans specially imported from Korea. It forms the basis of dishes offered at this casual dining joint, ranging from a variety of stews to even pancake.

Kra Pow Thai Street Food @ Far East Plaza ~ Hidden Gem With Cheap & Good Food! Shiok!

Far East Plaza has long lost its heydays as a street fashion haven. When I do visit the mall nowadays, it's usually for mani-pedi sessions and lunch/dinner following that at..... Kra Pow Thai Street Food!

The casual eatery has somewhat took position as my default dining choice since it opened a year ago at the corner of level 3. Why? Simply because the food is good and cheap.

I guess many others would agree. Business at Kra Pow (meaning "holy basil" in Thai) has been steadily growing and it had recently taken up another unit to accommodate more dine-in customers.

Dookki Singapore, Korean Tteokbokki Buffet @ Suntec City ~ Delicious Eat-All-You-Can Spread At Only $18.80++

As I was drafting this post on Dookki Singapore, my Korean colleague sent me a text.

"Found a great tteokbokki restaurant! It's really nice! I recommend you to visit!"

A "thumbs-up guarantee + chop" from a Korean herself? I could feel her delight and it was easy to understand her excitement. My friends and I had visited Dookki a week earlier and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there too.

Opened just two weeks ago in Suntec City and the first of its kind in Singapore, Dookki is a Korean tteokbokki (rice cake) buffet concept restaurant from South Korea which was established in 2014. It currently has more than 100 outlets worldwide so I guess that says a lot about its popularity.

Song Garden Chinese Restaurant @ Mercure Singapore Bugis ~ Serving Dim Sum & Modern Cantonese Delights

Dinner recently was a scrumptious affair at the 4-month old Song Garden Chinese Restaurant which serves dim sum and modern Cantonese delights.

The elegantly-fitted restaurant occupies almost the entire level two of Mercure Singapore Bugis hotel. Besides the main dining hall, there are seven private rooms to cater to groups of various sizes, including one which has a large white marble table that can seat upto 25 guests!

It even has a fully-automated Lazy-Susan which spans about 2.5 metres and can be operated by a remote control. If I'm the one holding it, I will make sure each dish always stops in front of me first hahaha!

Coastes @ Siloso Beach, Sentosa ~ Beachfront Dining Bar Introduces A Refreshed Breakfast & All-Day Dining Menu

Admittedly, I'm not a beach nor sun person. My fats begged to be hidden (no bikinis for me sob sob), and I don't like being exposed to the sun's harmful UV rays.

But when it comes to beachfront dining, it's a different story altogether!

Tucking into chicken wings, burgers, pizzas, pastas and seafood while overlooking the scenic sea, enjoying seaside rustic charm, laid-back vibes and even occasional fireworks? Now, that's my kind of "beach activity"! Lol!

Coastes, which is situated along the golden stretch of Sentosa's Siloso Beach, offers exactly this kind of dining experience.
