Canton Paradise Opens New Outlet At The Shoppes, Marina Bay Sands

Canton Paradise has recently launched its sixth outlet at Marina Bay Sands.

Located above where the skating rink and Kuro-Obi by Ippudo are, the restaurant serves up Hong Kong-style noodles, congees, and roast meat, as well as Cantonese wok dishes.

Dim sum is available all day here! I really don't mind having those little nuggets of deliciousness at anytime, especially when the custard buns came looking impossibly cute!

Yhingthai Palace @ Purvis Street ~ The Thai Restaurant With A Michelin Bib Gourmand Award

Never judge a restaurant by its appearance. From the looks of its imposing store front, Yhingthai Palace all along gave me the impression that the Thai food it serves is expensive and the place is somewhat a trap for unsuspecting tourists.

Whenever I passed by the establishment at Purvis Street, I always gave it a skip and headed for other eating places nearby like Yet Con, Chin Chin or even Gunthers.

That was until a friend told me that she and her family dine there quite often. "Food is reasonably-priced and good!" It then dawned on me that my myopic view had turned out to be so wrong.

Throw in a Singapore 2016 Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition, it felt like I was hit with a "what have you been missing?" moment. The only way to get over it is to make a visit!

DON HO Social Kitchen & Bar @ Keong Saik Road ~ East Meets West Small Plates, Vibrant Vibes & Great Service

We had a date with Don Ho!

Not the man, but the restaurant. Nestled within The Working Capitol at Keong Saik Road, Don Ho Social Kitchen & Bar is named after Don Ho, the late Hawaiian musician who is also lauded as the ambassador of the aloha spirit.

I absolutely adore the premises' tropical-themed interior which well-reflects this inspiration. Vibes are casual, fun and vibrant, setting an ideal tone for chillaxing evenings over food and drinks with friends.

Escape Restaurant & Lounge @ One Farrer Hotel & Spa ~ Durian Fried Rice, Eat-All-You-Can Food Spread & Teochew Porridge Buffet!

DURIAN FRIED RICE??? I'm totally sold! Nevermind that my body's unwell (probably too heaty) just a few days before our dinner date.

We definitely have to make the trip to Escape Restaurant & Lounge for that unique durian fried rice!

Located on the ground level of One Farrer Hotel & Spa, and easily accessible via exit A of Farrer Park Mrt Station (NE8), Escape is the hotel's signature 365 days, 24/7 dining venue (yes, that means supper is included!) with a live interactive kitchen concept that focus on both international and local cuisine.

HO RANG I Korean Restaurant @ Goldhill Centre ~ Comforting Korean Food With A Homey Touch

"Horangi" means "tiger" in Korean so, is Ho Rang I Korean Restaurant the tiger's den? Hahahahaha!

Whatever it is - nothing ventured, nothing gained. We heard good things about this eatery at Goldhill Centre (1 minute walk from Novena MRT Station exit B1), so the group of us marched in for dinner with both curiosity and hunger waiting to be satiated.

But patrons of Your Woul over the last 10 years would not be unfamiliar at all as Ho Rang I is actually a recent rebrand of the establishment. While brothers Edward and Eugene Chia (who also own Dosirak at China Square Central) take care of the operations now, their Korean mum still helms the kitchen.

LOLOKU Poké Bar & Deli @ Keong Saik Road ~ Where Poké Bowls Meet Pink Flamingos

Sashimi, Yusheng, Carpaccio, Ceviche, Crudo... these are just some of the raw fish dishes from different cultures, but the one that is trending in Singapore now would undeniably be the... Hawaiian Poké!

LOLOKU Poké Bar & Deli
is one of the many recent joints to jump on the bandwagon, brightening up the gastronomy street of Keong Saik with their colorful poké bowls.

Their storefront dotted with bright pink flamingo board stands is certainly eye-catching too!

The Disgruntled Brasserie @ Ann Siang Road ~ Revamped Menu With Set Lunch Starting From $28++ Only

Please may I introduce to you The Disgruntled Brasserie, sister outlet of the acclaimed The Disgruntled Chef at Dempsey.

While both restaurants serve modern European cuisine, The Disgruntled Brasserie is the casual counterpart with a more relaxed dining environment.

The brasserie established its presence within The Club at Ann Siang Hill last year in October, and has recently welcomed a newly-appointed Chef de Cuisine Desmond Goh who has just launched a revamped menu last month.

Some of his creations on the new menu got us rather interested!

Teppanyaki Hamburg Nihonbashui Keisuke Bettei @ Peck Seah Street, Tanjong Pagar ~ Delicious Japanese-Style Beef Hamburg Steaks, Amazing Salad Bar & Egg Station!

For fans of Ramen Chef Keisuke Takeda, 13th March 2017 would be the date to note as the 12th addition to his impressive chain of dining concepts - Teppanyaki Hamburg Nihonbashui Keisuke Bettei - will be opened.

The name of the restaurant is quite a mouthful I know haha! That aside, you really wouldn't want to miss the delight of savoring those delicious Japanese-style beef hamburg steaks in your mouth.

Saying this because I've been craving for the hamburg steaks since tasting it a couple of days ago during the preview session. Those slabs of meaty goodness coupled with unlimited servings of salads and eggs were simply..... unforgettable!

Sufood Singapore @ Raffles City ~ 8-Course Vegelicious Feast With New Fresh Salads & Black Truffle Mushroom Soup!

Sufood is said to be the number one vegetarian chain in Taiwan that is renowned for its stylish and innovative cuisine.

With our local branch at Raffles City in its 3rd year running in Singapore's competitive food scene, the restaurant is obviously doing something right with this approach towards healthy meatless dining. Options offered ranges from strict-vegetarian (garlic and onion free) to lacto-vegetarian dishes.

PinkyPiggu and I made a recent visit to try their 8-Course Vegelicious Feast comprising of new dishes which was introduced just two weeks ago on 1st March.

MOJO Singapore @ Telok Ayer Street ~ Protein Bowls By Day, Yakitori Bar By Night

MOJO Singapore has opened last month in February at Telok Ayer Street, serving protein bowls by day, and transforming into a yakitori bar by night.

Hmm... this 2-in-1 F&B concept is not entirely new, and there are no lack of similar salad lunch places either. As "mojo" can mean "magic", where is the magic then?

Perhaps the combined power of Shane Pow (local actor) and Sin Lee Foods (café at Bukit Ho Swee), the folks behind MOJO, might inject some magical appeal into it.

The Coconut Club @ Ann Siang Hill ~ Atas $12.80 Nasi Lemak That's Totally Worth The Money & Calories!

My clubbing days are long gone, but The Coconut Club makes me wanna go clubbing again nowadays! Over their superb nasi lemak of course! Lol!

It is already no secret that the quaint little eatery at Ann Siang Hill serves up an "atas" or upmarket version of our well-loved local coconut rice dish. Some might feel that each plate at $12.80 (nett price) cost more than what we will usually pay at a hawker centre, but hey, it's still cheaper than most restaurants and hotel versions lah. I find The Coconut Club's pricing justifiable as specially-sourced coconut and quality ingredients are used.

Most importantly, our plates of nasi lemak were delicious! Totally worth the money and calories!

Even our Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong hosted Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte here during the state visit last December!

PORTA @ Park Hotel Clarke Quay ~ Delicious Food At Affordable Prices! The PORTA Burger and Iberican Pork Secreto Are Must-Trys!

A hotel's anchor restaurant is usually about buffets to cater to the greater mass, but the trend seems to be heading towards a different direction now.

One such instance is PORTA Fine Food & Import Company located on the ground level of Park Hotel Clarke Quay which opened in January this year. The casual restaurant do serves buffet breakfast in the morning to accommodate hotel guests, but come 11am onwards, it presents a concise ala-carte menu that focus on quality, modern European cuisine.

Some standout dishes that we tried during our recent visit left us feeling rather impressed.
