More than year ago, I openly declared Open Farm Community (OFC) to be one of the best cafés in Singapore to enjoy well-thought and finely-executed food in a relaxing, laidback ambience. Even after many months and a few repeated visits later, it is still a joy to be back again recently for dinner.
What's the draw this time? OFC's revamped menu!
With a continued effort to champion farm-fresh dining, the 10 new dishes pays homage to familiar local flavors, and mostly uses fresh ingredients that are sourced from farms in and around Singapore.

Boston lobsters! Sri Lankan crabs! Prawns, mussels, oysters and many more! It's seafood galore at K-Tower!
Riding on the latest food trend from Korea, K-Tower at Amoy Street serves 3, 5, 7 and 9-tier seafood towers where a variety of seafood are steamed and presented in separate stacks, before finishing off with a base layer of soup.
Though K-Tower is not the first in Singapore to offer this dining concept, it aims to stay ahead of the game by ensuring that the freshness of the seafood not compromised. Their live seafood comes fresh from the tanks at the back of the restaurant!

Singapore may be one of the most expensive cities to live in, but there is still a good number of affordable food options around, including the $12 Nett Porridge Buffet offered by The Assumption Restaurant For Training, or known as The ART.
$12 nett = No service charge. No GST.
Porridge = Lighter and healthier meal.
Buffet = Eat all you want!
I haven't had such a simple yet satisfying meal for a long time.

Dolce Vita Italian Restaurant @ Mandarin Oriental Singaore ~ Well-Executed Italian Cuisine That's Satisfying
If there is one Italian thing that I cannot get enough of, it has to be the..... food!
This is reason enough for me to make an afternoon escapade from work and dive into the gastronomic comfort set within Dolce Vita, a fine-dining Italian restaurant located on level 5 of Mandarin Oriental Singapore.
Right place, and the right time too, as Dolce Vita has recently launched its new dishes by Chef de Cuisine Marco Manocchio.

Whisky and Sumiyaki? Doesn't sound like the most typical food and drink pairing, but The Wall has confidently coupled the two together.
Recently-launched in Tanjong Pagar, The Wall is a whisky and sumiyaki bar that seeks to de-mystify the art of whisky drinking and make it accessible to a wider audience.
It is also one of a few whisky bars that serves a full food menu which focuses on sumiyaki, or Japanese charcoal grill.

Half Pound Burger Bar & Grill has opened last month at Purvis Street, along the same stretch where some of the popular eating places including Gunther's, Clinton Street Baking Company, Yet Con and Chin Chin Chicken Rice are.
True to its name, the casual dining joint's focus is mainly on burgers using "half pound" Angus patties, as well as grilled meats such as steak, rainbow trout and pork chop.
There is also a selection of pastas, pizza and bar bites to add on to the variety.

Don Meijin @ Ramen Champion Bugis+ ~ New Japanese Donburi Specialist Offers Local-Inspired Spicy Chilli Crab Tendon!
Not ramen, but tendon? A new contender has arrived at Ramen Champion Bugis+!
Instead of the usual ramen, Don Meijin stands out as the donburi specialist that offers a wide variety of Japanese rice bowl options ranging from Tendon, Soft Shell Crab Don, Jumbo Chicken Katsu Don to Roast Beef Don. All are priced affordably from $12.80 to $18.80.
Zooming in quickly to their Signature Tendon ($13.80) which offers an assortment of fried ingredients including prawn, salmon, pumpkin, eggplant, asparagus and veggie fritter. It was a tough choice to decide on which tempura to dig in first as all of them looked equally attractive with their golden crisp exterior.

New Ubin Seafood Moves From Sin Ming to Hillview. That Beef Steak With Heart Attack Fried Rice Is Still As Good!
When news of New Ubin Seafood's relocation broke last November, we quickly went for a "farewell" meal at the restaurant's Sin Ming Industrial Estate premises where it has been operating for the last couple of years, before it moved into its new home at Hillview.
Hillview sounds ulu and can be rather remote for most of us. I imagine the Westies to be happy though. "Hey hey, we now have a Michelin Bib Gourmand zhi-char eatery on our side of the island!"
Lam Soon Industrial Building to be specific. Diners have to take the passenger lift to level 6, and walk through the carpark to get to the "canteen" which now houses New Ubin. If you drive, just park directly at level 6.

Mak's Noodle Singapore Launches NEW, The BIGGER, The BETTER Menu! Branches At Centrepoint, Westgate & Vivocity.
Opened since July 2015 in Singapore's Centrepoint, Mak's Noodles is certainly a welcoming addition to our local wonton mee scene with its classic, springy Hong Kong-style noodles paired with prawn dumplings.
With a strong emphasis favoring quality over quantity, the Michelin-starred Hong Kong brand has been known for its dainty portions during its early days in Singapore.
Thankfully that has changed for us with heartier appetites! The recent introduction of five new local dishes provides premium ingredients and larger noodle portion.
The BIGGER, the BETTER? Yes, I think so!

Glad that the city is getting hot and steamy! Not talking about the weather of course lol!
Imperial Treasure Steamboat Restaurant has opened a new branch at Level 1 of Great World City, offering diners another location choice for its hotpot meals besides the outlet at Ion Orchard.
Though the branch at Triple One Somerset which I went sometime back has already closed, it stayed in my memory as one of the better steamboat experiences in Singapore.
