Machicon Singapore ~ A Food & Fun Date Night

I love food.

I love meeting new people.

An event to enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine, Asahi beer and meet new people over food...

An opportunity for guys and gals to get acquainted and even a chance to meet their future partners...

How does that sounds?

I've read much about dating events but never attended one before. I didn't know what to expect when I was invited to attend Machicon, which is taunted as a large-scale edgy dating event with huge success in Japan, where it originated. Brought to us by Foodrink News Singapore, the fun and interesting event happened on 25 February 2013 in Singapore, the first time it's ever held in Southeast Asia. Participants get to enjoy themselves at the participating Japanese restaurants and meet as many people as possible at the same time.

{Recipe} Spice It Up with Kimchi Fried Rice

I love fried rice! It's a one-dish wonder which is so versatile, I can customized it to my preference with whatever ingredients I have left in my refrigerator. There's nothing more satisfying than a plate of fried rice with a good smoky wok hei, but sadly, it's almost impossible to achieve in this PinkyPiggu's kitchen with the induction cooker. The next best thing? To have my fried rice spicy! really spicy!

The Chocolate Bar @ The Club, MBS ~ Too Sweet For Words

Is there a sweeter way to end a day than to end it with a buffet of delectable desserts? Literally 'No'!

There is no sweeter way than the way I ended it at The Chocolate Bar at Level 57 of Marina Bay Sands one evening from 10.30pm to 12 midnight. That short 1.5 hours of indulgence in free flow chocolates, desserts, cookies, donuts was decadently sinful. Having tried the chocolate buffet at The Fullerton some time back, the array of delightful chocolatey treats at The Chocolate Bar sent me on the same sugary high, if not higher. The quality of the exquisite creations is not to be questioned, the only question is the quantity you can handle.

One Rochester ~ Drizzling with Romance

Times really flies! In a blink of an eye, we're already into the 2nd month of 2013. It seems like just yesterday when I had my last meal of 2012 and braved the crowds to catch the brilliant fireworks at Fullerton Bay Hotel area.

"As the rain washes away all the unhappiness of 2012, what comes next shall be the most beautiful rainbow of 2013".

I remember it was raining very heavily that afternoon. My friend and I had dinner plans at One Rochester and is concerned that the outdoor area which we had reserved might be too wet for us to dine comfortably. Assured by the voice on the other line that the outdoor area is well sheltered from the rain when we called to check, we drove over in anticipation of a good dinner to start off the last evening of the year.

Reunion Lunch 2013 ~ Huat Ah to Year of Snake!

While many of you might still be doing your last minute Chinese New Year shopping, this PinkyPiggu has already taken her reunion lunch with family, waved goodbye to her brother who left for reunion dinner at his in-laws place with his wife and son, and said "去休息lah" (go have a rest) to her mum who is now taking a nap. Hehee, some ME-time now to nua blog!

The Reunion Dinner (团圆饭) is definitely the most important event on the eve of Chinese New Year. No matter how one might be tight up with work or any other commitments, all the family members will make it a point to gather together to have their reunion dinner. It symbolizes family unity and great emphasis is placed on the importance of this Chinese tradition. The meal is usually very sumptuous to signify an prosperous year ahead.
