Taste Paradise at Ion Orchard has always been my family's favourite place for delectable dim sum and I'm happy to be back again this time to join Daniel for their yearly delicacy ~ Shanghai Hairy Crabs! The mere mention of this crustacean delight is enough to make me salivate (who wouldn't?). Highly prized for their sweet delicate meat and rich succulent roe, hairy crabs are truly a seasonal favorite not to be missed. It's time to prepare our tummy space to indulge in a scrumptious hairy crab feast!

The menu at PODI offers all-day breakfast and grills at affordable pricing. Pure.Offbeat.Delicious.Infuions. - That's what PODI has set itself out to be.

Notable for their Thai-style Suki Hotpot, Signature MK sauce and MK Roasted Duck, MK Restaurant has over 400 branches in Thailand, Japan, and Vietnam. Their first branch at Singapore's 313@Somerset promises many delicious dishes with their original recipes straight from Thailand.

Bull and Butcher ~ A New Casual Steakhouse At Plaza Singapura

It's traditional, but it's new, and it's taking the bull by the horns! I'm talking about Bull and Butcher, a new casual steakhouse which has just established its presence at the ground level of the newly renovated Plaza Singapura (taking over the space where Cafe Cartel used to be). Featuring a variety of signature cuts flown in from Australia and US all ready to be prepared over the impressive customized charcoal grill, yet remaining at reasonable prices without leaving much damage to the wallet, this 2-month young baby looks set to bulldoze its way into all the beef lovers' heart!

Bar-Roque Grill ~ An Exciting New Restaurant @ Amara Hotel, Tanjong Pagar

It's always beautiful to have dreams. It's even more beautiful when the dream comes true. It's the most beautiful when your dream comes true with your loved one by your side! Executive Chef Stephane Istel (former executive chef of DB Bistro Moderne) and Kori Millar (former GM of Sky on 57) became the envious subject of many when they duet the dream opening of Bar-Roque Grill, a French inspired modern Rotisserie and Bar.

Together as co-owners and life partners, they weaved the Baroque era's melody of conviviality, feasting, enjoyment, pleasure on the table and love on the plate into Singapore's Tanjong Pagar area, right at the corner of Amara Hotel.

Bear Bites 熊の食 Singapore ~ Super Cute Taiwanese Bear Paw Burgers At *SCAPE!

We were planning to have fried chicken, but mention "Bear Burger", my attention was quickly shifted. So kawaii (cute) sounding, how would it look like? Well, in the realm of social media, nothing stays as a mystery for long and the answer was soon revealed through Instagram. The photo I saw was cuteness to the max!! I’m definitely gonna try this very photogenic burger!

Le Chasseur ~ The Chicken Claypot Rice and Pork Knuckle Is Awesome!

We agreed that we do not want to eat rice when thinking of a place for dinner in the Clarke Quay area, but when my friend mentioned that he has never tried the Chicken Claypot Rice at Le Chasseur before, all no-carbs diet plans are thrown out and we found ourselves at this restaurant located at New Bridge Road, just across the road from The Central.

Folks Collective ~ A Hip New Thai Restaurant @ China Square Central

The visit to Folks Collective came after a friend's recommendation. New places always gets us excited and I guess many others too, judging by the crowd that filled the 3-month old modern Thai restaurant when we went during lunch one Friday afternoon. Right smacked in the CBD area of China Square Central, it's not surprising to see flocks of office workers chomping down their fare with a oomph that rivals the music and energetic chatter in the background. It's TGIF, folks! :D

MooJaa ~ Singapore's No.1 Mookata Thai BBQ Steamboat!

We love our BBQ, we love our steamboat! Mookata, a Thai-style BBQ steamboat, married our two loves and captured our hearts. What fired up a regular simmering pot of soupy goodness is the touch of sizzling smokey fragrance most irresistible and tummy gratifying, an experience which we thoroughly enjoyed at MooJaa, a Mookata restaurant situated along Keong Saik Road. "Mookata" literally means "Pork Skillet" in Thai and refers to the special cooking apparatus created to enjoy both barbeque and hot pot at the same time.

Truffs @ Telok Ayer Street ~ Time For A Chocolate Break!

It is often heard, "I need a coffee break", "Let's go for afternoon tea", but would one usually go... "Time for a chocolate break!" ???

Kimberly, Derrick and I had a chocolate break one afternoon and we love it!

Hidden in the second level of a row of shophouse along Telok Ayer Street, Truffs would have escaped my attention if Kimberly hadn't introduced the place to us after our failed attempt to visit Sophie's Bakery which was temporary closed for renovations. Best known for their offerings of chocolate desserts, drink and truffles (of course!), Truffs is truly an epitome of a chocolate paradise, a perfect place to have a quiet afternoon of chocolate break! My initial disappointment was very much compensated with this new-found affection.

NamNam Noodle Bar @ Raffles City ~ A Moo-licious Pho Night for the Cow's Birthday

Just one call was all it took for the few of us to ditch our evening plans and make our way to NamNam Noodle Bar at the basement of Raffles City Shopping Centre instead, simply because it's The Hungry Cow's birthday! It was a rather impromptu gathering as the cow managed to finish all his work that evening, thus freeing himself up for a celebration. Arrangements were quickly made in a frenzy among us as the cow's Blackberry whatsapp decided to fail him on this day of all days. I shook my head in disbelief as I'm back in town after leaving office and commuting in the train for 1.5 hours. Cow, see how we he♥rt you! Got 感动 mah? :p

April 15, 2013 was a very very happy day, because Father sent me an angel with a box of Ladurée Macarons!

For the uninitiated, Ladurée is one of the best known makers of luxury macarons and pastry in the world. They are the ones who invented the double-decker by sticking two macaron shells together with a delicious ganache filling, a creation which sent countless pastry lovers' hearts fluttering on a sugary high. Now we can have an experience of the dainty French confection too, without flying all the way to Paris! Are you excited much yet?

Dolce Tokyo ~ A Sweet Japanese-Italian Cafe @ 313 Somerset

What's in a name? 'Dolce' means 'sweet' in Italian and the name of Dolce Tokyo seems to be whispering promises of sweet Japanese desserts in my ears. True enough, this latest cafe to set its heart at 313 Somerset, serves that and much more!

Wow! With a wide variety of desserts from Japanese's Zenzai (red bean dessert), Mitsu Mame (jelly cubes), Kaikigori (shaved ice) and Sundaes to Italian-influenced Panna Cotta, Creme Brulee and Chocolate Brownie, dessert lovers are spoilt for choices! As I approached the Japanese-Italian cafe which is situated at the open unit next to Uniqlo, the window display of droolicious looking desserts certainly grabbed my attention.
