Kumoya Presents Cinnamoroll Special Pop-Up Café! Super Cute Food, Desserts & Beverages Featuring The Popular Sanrio Charactor!

Cinnamoroll is flying to Kumoya, Singapore's first Halal-certified Japanese-French café, for a pop-up café special from 17th May to 13th August 2017!

This collaboration is to mark the 15th anniversary of Sanrio's well-loved character, Cinnamoroll. Awwww...... Yes, it's that impossibly adorable white puppy with blue eyes, pink cheeks and a plump curly tail that resembles a cinnamon roll. He was born on a cloud and can fly through the air by flapping his huge, long ears.

Not only has Cinnamoroll flew into our hearts with such cuteness, he aims to conquer our tummies too with an array of cutesy-looking main courses, desserts and beverages!

What better way to enjoy those delights in a setting that screams..... Cinnamoroll!

During the pop-up period, Kumoya is decked in a specially commissioned Cinnamoroll theme décor. The entire space is simply lovely in white and pastel blue, and with Cinnamoroll plushies at almost every table to accompany us for an enhanced dining experience.

But but but..... how to eat with those puppy dog eyes staring at us? Lol!

The Cinnamoroll special menu is conceptualized by Shirley Wong @littlemissbento, together with the kitchen team at Kumoya.

You might already known Shirley as the award-winning bento/food artist and blogger who also co-created the menu at Gudetama Café Singapore.

For Main Courses, you can look forward to attractively-plated dishes with fun names such as Fluffy Dreams Japanese Curry Rice ($21.90), Flying Clouds Cinnamoroll Burger ($17.90), Happy Happy Heart Chicken Karaage With Waffles ($19.90), Fun With Friends Cold Pasta ($17.90), and Cloud Garden Sukiyaki Beef Wrap ($16.90).

We kept our expectations in check because well, character cafés typically banks more on appearance rather than substance but..... surprise, surprise, surprise!

The food we tried mostly turned out to be as delightful as it looks!

An unanimous favorite was the Happy Happy Heart Chicken Karaage With Waffles ($19.90) which came with pieces of juicy and tender deep-fried chicken chunks. Those accompanying potato hearts captured my heart too.

Fun With Friends Cold Pasta ($17.90) came dressed in a refreshing sesame dressing, and crispy breaded prawns.

The Fluffy Dreams Japanese Curry Rice ($21.90) was a comforting choice with Kumoya's signature Japanese curry paired with tempura salmon and Japanese rice in shape of Cinnamoroll.

One thing that could be improved was the mantou bun which was a tad dry. If only it is as fluffy as the clouds.

Dessert options includes Fly-in-the Clouds Yuzu Chiffon Cake ($15.90), Cinnamoroll Berries Fantasy Parfait ($17.90), Espresso's Coffee Express Playground ($16.90), and Kumoya Signature Eclairs ($7.90 for set of 2 pcs / $13.90 for set of 4pcs).

If I would have to give only one recommendation, my pick would be the Cinnamoroll Berries Fantasy Parfait ($17.90). The special double swirl parfait with mixed berries, cotton candy, soft soufflé cheesecake and limited edition macarons was irresistibly pretty with an enjoyable combination of textures to match.

My friend like the Fly-in-the Clouds Yuzu Chiffon Cake ($15.90) which pleased with its citrusy notes. The cake could be less dense though.

Beverages are just as eye-catching with huge clouds of cotton candy topped over Cutie Cutie Special Cinnamoroll Blue Soda ($14.90), Sweet Fluffy Dreams Rose Tea ($13.90), and On Cloud Nine Mango Tea ($13.90).

The Floaty Cloud Iced Café Latte ($9.90) crafted from UCC Japanese coffee beans, and served with a special Cinamonroll cookie, heart-shaped marshmallows and whipped cream was just as alluring in looks, and definitely satisfying as a caffeine fix.

I must say this Cinnamoroll and Kumoya collaboration is very meticulously-planned and well-executed in giving us an all-rounded experience right from the moment we stepped into the pop-up café. Got feel!

To highlight, there is a photo booth at the café entrance just in case anyone missed the opportunity to take some photos against the kawaii backdrop and with those Cinnamoroll props.

You may also want to note that there is a minimum spending of $10 per person, and the café might limit your dining time to 90 minutes depending on crowd response.

We can understand that these measures are for the greater good of everyone who wants a bite of Cinnamoroll before it flies away from Kumoya after 3 months :)
