Coastes @ Siloso Beach, Sentosa ~ Beachfront Dining Bar Introduces A Refreshed Breakfast & All-Day Dining Menu

Admittedly, I'm not a beach nor sun person. My fats begged to be hidden (no bikinis for me sob sob), and I don't like being exposed to the sun's harmful UV rays.

But when it comes to beachfront dining, it's a different story altogether!

Tucking into chicken wings, burgers, pizzas, pastas and seafood while overlooking the scenic sea, enjoying seaside rustic charm, laid-back vibes and even occasional fireworks? Now, that's my kind of "beach activity"! Lol!

Coastes, which is situated along the golden stretch of Sentosa's Siloso Beach, offers exactly this kind of dining experience.

As we discovered, the most convenient and cost-effective way to get over to Coastes could possibly be via the Sentosa Express Monorail.

Alight at the Beach Station, and Coastes is just a 2 to 3 minutes walk away.

Our group was seated at Coastes' sheltered deck area, but for you who can't get enough of the sun, sand and sea, its sunbeds and deck chairs flow right to the water's edge!

Sounds all so lovely but I guess the heat is going up and up with newer beach bars coming onto the scene.

It's about time that Coastes (which has been around for 10 years) refreshes their menu and attract diners with new offerings.

Addition to the Breakfast (9am-3pm) selection include the Italian-style Bacon Mushroom Fritata ($16), which is an oven-baked omelette filled with bacon, mushroom and parmesan cheese, served with a side of salad.

The All-Day Dining menu features a host of crowd favorites like Calamari Rings ($14), Slipper Lobster Spaghetti ($28), Hawaiian Pizza ($22), Corned Beef Ciabatta ($16), Bourbon-glazed Pork Ribs (half slab $20 / full slab $30), and Fish & Chips ($22), just to name a few.

There are also Asian delights such as Curry Laksa ($20) and Chicken Curry ($20).

If the prices look reasonable, you might be even more happy to know that prices are NETT. No need to further add service charge or GST to it.

To start, I would suggest ordering the Seafood Platter ($52).

The scrumptious assortment of pan-fried crayfish, crab salad, fish stew, poached tiger prawns with pineapple salsa, chili clams and calamari rings with lime mayo dip is perfect for sharing!

Get those Coastes Chicken Wings (half portion $10 / full portion $18) too!

While the oven-baked wings did not boast of any crisp exterior, it's well-marinated and coated with a savory-sweet sticky sauce that's utterly addictive. It went very well with the tangy chili dip.

The Bourbon-glazed Pork Ribs (half slab $20 / full slab $30) came highly recommended and it's easy to understand why.

Those prime pork ribs were tender, and generously glazed with homemade maple and bourbon sauce.

"Finger licking good" would be the cliché term to describe it.

We each have our individual preferences for the carb dishes.

The Spicy Penne Arrabiatta ($22), tossed with mushrooms, asparagus and olives in a mildly-spicy tomato sauce, is quite a classic rendition and not too bad.

Seafood Risotto ($32), comprising of fresh tiger prawns, cod fish, crab meat and asparagus, was also well-received.

While some felt that the Green Curry & Chicken Spaghetti ($24) was overwhelmingly "coconutty lemak", I actually enjoyed it the most as I'm not a fan of tomato-based sauces.

Coastes' line-up of desserts is not wide, but caters well to differing tastebuds from the Salted Caramel Brownie ($14) and Banana & Chocolate Pie ($14) for chocolate lovers, to the lighter and more refreshing Forest Berries & Cream Cheese Trifle ($15).

There are also draught and bottled beers if it's more of your thing.

I totally love my Coconut Kumquat ($10) which is an invigorating mocktail of coconut juice and calamansi with slices of coconut flesh.

Though the food at Coastes did not screamed of gourmet levels, what we have tasted are certainly decent, hearty, and most suitable for sharing especially when in a group.

My advice is to wear light clothings to make the dining experience more comfortable.

It would also be wise to download the C Side App from iTunes Stores or Play Stores. The app is said to make ordering and paying at Coastes more efficient. If not, there are always app-exclusive perks like special promotions, complimentary parking tickets and even lucky draws to look forward to.
