Fukuichi Japanese Dining's New Branch At Hotel Chancellor! Go For Their Opening Specials, Teishoku (8 Items) At Only $30++

Fukuichi is one of my favorite places for casual Japanese food! Their branch at Triple One Somerset has been around for a couple of years, and has accompanied me through numerous lunch hours when I used to work in the area. (Read: Fukuichi Japanese Dining At Triple One Somerset)

Recently, Fukuichi has opened a new outlet at Hotel Chancellor (behind Concorde Hotel, very near Cuppage and Centrepoint), purveying lunch and dinner teishoku at affordable prices. A dinner set meal of 8 items goes for only $30++ (usual $45++) during the opening promotion period from now till 30th September 2015!

Served in a lacquered meal box comprising of Assorted Sushi, Sashimi, California Roll, Tempura, Salmon with Cod Roe Sauce, Appetizer, Salad and Miso Soup, it is not too far off to say that each item is a "mini-course" in itself. Together, it's undeniably a complete and totally hearty meal.

I think that's perhaps why Fukuichi serve this indulgence teishoku during dinner only. Have it for lunch, most of us would probably fall into food coma after that. How to work through the afternoon then? Boss is watching yo! Lol.

Fortunately, there are lighter options for lunch, such as the Grilled Atka Mackerel Fish Set ($18), Grilled Chicken with Teriyaki Sauce Set ($18), Beef with Ginger Sauce Set ($18) and Grilled Sea Bream with Cod Roe Sauce Set ($20).

Best, it's Buy 3 Set Lunches & Get The 4th One Free during the opening promotion period. Grab your colleagues and friends along! It's available daily!

On the ala-carte menu are some rather worthy dishes too. The Kani Tofu ($7) featuring crab meat beancurd with century egg sauce was still as good as how I remembered it to be.

XO Chawanmushi ($14) paired the traditional Japanese steamed egg custard with a slightly spicy sauce reminiscent of Chinese cooking. Quite an interesting take! Everyone at my table loved it!

While the Gyuniku Fagura Sauce ($38) of grilled beef cubes with goose liver sauce, and Ebi Teppanyaki ($25) of prawns with cod roe sauce pleased much with well-executed succulent meat, we wished for the chef to go easier on the sauces which masked most of the meat's natural flavor.

Overall, the food quality at Fukuichi's new outlet did not disappoint, though I still prefer the Triple One Somerset branch for its serene ambience and closer proximity to the mrt station. But for now, Fukuichi at Hotel Chancellor is where one should go to enjoy the opening specials.

  1. Stunning!Delicious! This was one of the best Japanese dinner we have had for quite a while. One of the best option is to inform the waitress with respect to what you wish to spend per head and the culinary specialist would then serve up a dinner to suit your budget. We had a superb 7 course meal for around £40 per head.
