Carne & Caipirinha @ Sunset Way ~ The Only Charcoal-Fired Brazilian Churrascaria In Singapore!

Meat, meat and more meat! I was swarmed by unlimited servings of roasted chicken, beef, lamb, pork and fish during the recent visit to Carne & Caipirinha at Sunset Way. Haha it was such a happy (and belly dangerous) situation to be in!

Said to be the one and only Brazilian Churrascaria in Singapore that uses charcoal fire for roasting quality meats to result in greater flavors, this is one place where carnivores can satiate their primal cravings. The only limitation is the size of our appetite.

Are you tempted much yet?

Maybe your response will be "not yet", but perhaps when you see the vibrant array of Gourmet Salads, Pastas and traditional Brazilian Feijoda (black bean stew) already lined up at the buffet bar to captivate your senses, it would probably induce an hunger in any normal beings to want to start off the meal as quickly as possible.

My advice is: Try a bit of each item, especially the Cheese Bread, but don't rush and stuff your tummy with too much and too soon. Because the main reason to be at Carne & Caipirinha is ultimately for the charcoal-grilled meats.

Another advice: Come dressed appropriately as Carne & Caipirinha has only alfresco seating (no aircon!). You may want to wear lighter (to remain cool) and looser (to allow tummy expansion) clothing.

The fun began when we got settled back at our table. Passadors (chefs-cum-meat servers), dressed in traditional gaucho (cowboys) outfits, tote skewers and carved dining portions of meat right on our dining plates! Watch out for those knives!

A variety of meats is served to us in rotation, which is known as the Rodizio (rotation) style of service. I was told this is a very popular dining concept in Brazil.

Carne & Caipirinha prides itself on serving chicken and beef that are directly imported from Brazil. The flavor of Brazilian beef differs from their American and Australian counterparts, boasting a robust and satisfying taste.

We also tried the Beef Hump, a rare cut which can only be found in the humped Brazilian cattle known as Zebu. It contains more marbling than other parts of the beef.

The full selection of meat includes Beef Rump Cap, Beef Rib, Pork Rib, Pork Belly, Pork Ham, Pork Sausage, Chicken Thigh, Chicken Fillet wrapped in Bacon, Fish and Lamb Leg.

I almost chickened out from trying the Chicken Heart, because it sounded too exotic for me. But at some urging, I gave a piece a try, and oh my goodness! I got hooked, and asked for many more pieces after that lol! It's okay to be a heart-eater, not heart-breaker.

The Grilled Pineapple was especially memorable too. Exceedingly sweet and served as an immensely refreshing bite to cut through the meaty heaviness.

We get to decide the pace of our meals with the usage of a green and red two-sided disc. Like a traffic light, Green means: "Keep serving the food", while "Red" means: "Stop!".

Wash it all down with Caipirinha ($12), Brazil's national cocktail with a zesty and fruity note, Guarana Antarctica ($6), first ever soft drink produced in Brazil, or Skol Pilsner ($14), the most popular beer in Brazil.
