Afternoon tea alert! Portico Prime has launched their Portico Favorites High Tea Set at a special price of only $38++ per person (usual price $48++), today!
A modern European restaurant, Portico Prime is nestled within the lush greenery of Dempsey Hill. If I can only use one word to describe its premises, the word would be 'GORGEOUS'!
Look at those spacious settings, non-claustrophobic high ceilings and breezy alfresco area. What an ideal place to sit back, chill, and indulge in some afternoon delights.
To spare you the salivating agony of scrutinizing through my photos and figuring out what the set encompasses, here is the full list of items you'd get to enjoy.
Starter
- Chilled truffle-scented angel hair pasta, avruga caviar, kawa ebi shrimps
- Crostini of Asian-cured salmon gravlax, coriander crème fraiche
- Skewer of tiger prawn, compressed melon sheet, tobiko roe, brandy
Savory
- Éclair of Singapore-style chili crab meat
- Fish “otak-otak” toast
- Squid and salted egg croquette
Petit Sweets
- Marsala Chai tea cake, honey ginger cream, orange confit
- Homemade carrot cake, maple cream cheese frosting, toasted walnuts
- Mini deconstructed blackforest
- Chilled cheesecake, mango gel, mini passionfruit spheres
- Baked apple crumble tart, sweet basil cream
- “Bandung” rose cream, strawberry and lychee tart
Cookies and Chocolates
- Pistachio nut, cranberry and white chocolate bark
- Homemade peanut butter and confetti cookies
Scones
- Freshly-baked California natural raisins and citrus peel scones
- (served with homemade honey kaya, homemade seasonal preserves and clotted cream)
Coffee or Tea
Huh so many items? Yes! Yes! Yes! To say the set is value for its price is an understatement.
And I must add that the high tea set is not simply a juxtapose of dainty-sized snacks, placed together for the sake of being there to make up variety.
Some of the items are degustation portion of Portico's signature dishes. The exquisite pieces we were savoring has been voted as favorites by their team of chefs and service staff, as well as regular patrons. Hence the high tea set is named 'Portico Favorites'.
Take for instance the Chilled Truffle-Scented Angel Hair Pasta which is a well-loved starter from Portico Prime's main menu. It is available in limited quantity each day, and the high tea set let us had minute bites of its popularity.
Though the serving is small, just look that amount of caviar! Certainly proof that the kitchen team doesn't skimp on ingredients at all.
Another highlight to look out for from the regular offierings is the Homemade Deconstruction Blackforest made of Max Felchin 65% dark chocolate cake, speculoos crumbs, puffed barley, butter beer ice cream. I called it a mini party in a cup.
Some of my personal favorites include the soft and fluffy Marsala Chai Tea Cake with honey ginger cream and orange confit, which packed a myraid of flavors in each mouthful. Lovely to look but even better to eat! Lol!
The Bandung Tart filled with rose cream, strawberry and lychee tart was simply exquisite and delicious too.
Not to mention also the Otak Toast with a slight spicy kick, and the Squid & Salted Egg Croquette that pleased much with its crisp outer bursting with a creamy filling.
Everyone at the table has praises for the Freshly-baked Scones as well.
Each high tea set also includes free flow of Coffee brewed with beans from Dutch Colony or Tea from Twinings Large-Leaf Discovery Tea Collection (choose one flavor)

Most people have the conception that high teas are only for 'tais-tais' or girly gatherings, but guys, if you bring your girlfriend or wife to Portico Prime for an afternoon of Portico Favorites, I'm sure they will appreciate you for it. Perfect for tête–à–tête. Can also take the opportunity to release your potential to be the best ever "Instagram husband" haha.
