We licked it, we sucked it, we bite and ate it! Ooh those delicious icy treats from I SEE i SEE!
The well-loved handcrafted ice pop brand from Hong Kong has just opened their first international outpost at Singapore's 313@Somerset today!
Located at basement 3 of the shopping mall's bustling food hall, the store certainly entices much with its display of colorful ice pop flavors. Not just being pretty and Instagram-worthy, the concept also aims to embody the motto of spreading joy through life's simple pleasures.
To be frank, I wasn't aware of I SEE i SEE's popularity in Hong Kong until the power of social media and effective marketing alerted me to it.
The brand was found just recently in May last year, and has expanded relatively quickly to the current five outlets in Hong Kong, and now, one more in Singapore.
I guess the key to their success is their belief in using only top quality ingredients for its range of fruit and milk-based ice pops, all of which have no added preservatives or coloring.
Expect Milk-based Favors such as Strawberry Hokkaido Milk, Cheesy Raspberry, Earl Grey Pistachio, Figs & Honey, Creamy Mango and Stinky Durian, as well as Fruit-based Flavors including Chilli Mango, Refreshing Kiwi, Lychee with a Cherry Kiss, Reach For the Star(fruit), The Super Food Avocado, Straight-up Pineapple and Virgin Mojito.
Priced between $5.90 to $7.90 per stick, eight to twelve flavors will be available at any one time. Do look out for occasional specials too.
Apparently, no two ice pops are alike as each are lovingly handcrafted by an ice pop artist in small batches.
Among the few flavors which we tried like Strawberry Hokkaido Milk ($6.90), Cheesy Raspberry ($6.90) and Juicy Honeydew ($5.90), none were too sweet, surprisingly!
The Earl Grey Pistachio ($6.90) was our unanimous favorite!
Creamy in texture with a distinct lingering fragrance of freshly-brewed earl grey tea, and sprinkled with crushed pistachio for a nutty bite, the entire combination was indeed extremely enjoyable. No wonder it is one of Hong Kong's bestsellers.
We also love the highly invigorating kick of Refreshing Kiwi ($5.90), and also the luscious taste of Creamy Mango ($6.90). It felt like we were enjoying the fruits itself, albeit frozen versions.
I heard that the Stinky Durian ($7.90) really packed a stinky punch. Oh my goodness! I RUN I RUN!!!
Besides delighting customers with these icy indulgence, I SEE i SEE is also about pampering us with beautiful packaging and a personalized touch for that feel-good experience.
For instance, each ice pop will come in a colorful cup decorated with a quirky quote. The staff will also write the patron's name or draw a smiley face on it upon ordering.
Takeaways are possible too, each insulated bag filled with dry ice can take up to seven popsicles.
Though I do find the pricing a tad steep, there is no other reason to prevent me from returning again for these ice ice babies.
If I SEE i SEE's wish is to put a smile on customers' faces through its ice pops, they have certainly succeeded, at least onto mine :)
