Singapore Blog Awards 2013 ~ The Announcement of Winners @ Shanghai Dolly

After weeks of voting and judging, the winners of the Singapore Blog Awards 2013 are finally announced! It was an afternoon of anticipation as the finalists and their invited guests gathered at Shanghai Dolly for the awards ceremony. Who will win? Which blog will find favor? Will my favorite blogs be the best blog in their category? Together with my BFF, I was there to find out! To fit into the 60's Fever theme, I was all dressed up in a (not surprisingly) pink retro dress. Most of the guests were dressed to theme too, I had to take a double look before recognizing some of my friends lol!!

Organized by omy.sg to honor individuals who devote their time and energy in providing informative content through their blogs, I appreciate that the Singapore Blog Awards not only recognizes the efforts of those in the blogosphere, but also setting the benchmark of blogging to a certain standard.

The start to blogging may often be the easiest, it's the road to continue which is difficult if one is without having real passion for it. Only after I started blogging did I realize how much time it takes up. The editing of photos, the writing, the sleep we sacrificed before clicking "publish". Now, whenever I read a blog post, I do not just see the content, I can feel the hard work behind it. BLOGGERS ROCK!!!

The results, determined by a combination of online voting (30%) and professional scoring (70%), were soon announced and winner after winner were born without cessation within an hour. A big CONGRATULATIONS to all winners!

I would like to thank the organizers for the chance to participate and everyone who has voted for PinkyPiggu in the Best Cooking Blog category. PinkyPiggu may not have won any award this year, but the experience of being in the finals is already a blessing in itself. To me, what matters most is to enjoy blogging and sharing of what I'm passionate about. Of course, winning will be good lah! But not winning doesn't mean that I will be discouraged in any way too. I will continue to write, you will continue to read right? Right? Right? lol :p
