MO BAR @ Mandarin Oriental, Singapore ~ Afternoon Tea With Exquisite Treats And Lovely View

One of the best decisions I made recently was to take some time off work and spend a relaxing time over afternoon tea at Mandarin Oriental's MO BAR.

Formerly-known as Axis Bar & Bar, the space has since undergone a refurbishment and recently re-opened as MO Bar. I'm glad that the full-height windows are retained, offering us a lovely view of Marina Bay. Never mind that UV rays are harmful for our skin haha. I just want to sink into the plush pink couches, eat, drink, and chill away...

One thing which you'd notice upon entering MO BAR is the display of TWG Tea products and gourmet gifts. We can actually have a whiff of the tea leaves samples (18 options available) before ordering our preferred choice.

It wasn't too long before my Pink Flamingo Tea, a light refreshing blend of green tea and crimson hibiscus, and is brought to our table.

Just look at that white porcelain cup and saucer with polished gold rim the tea is served in. Doesn't it look so classy? I later learned that it is by Legle, a renowned French heritage tableware brand. Little details like this does add that touch of elegance to the afternoon tea experience.

The seasonal menu changes bi-monthly so this month's treats celebrate the vibrant colors and flavors of Christmas.

We started with Berry-infused Tea Jelly with cinnamon red fruits emulsion, and the trio of Wagyu Short Ribs & Red Wine Cabbage Kueh Pie Tee, Lobster & Asian Pear Mini Cone, Charcoal Cracker with Confit Tomato & Mint Chutney.

More savory delicacies such as Balik Salmon Brioche, Chicken Croquet, and Beetroot Tart with Blue Cheese followed soon after.

I particularly enjoyed the Foie Gras & Pistachio Lollipop with its distictive taste and melt-in-mouth smoothness! Almost wanted to steal my dining companion's share while he wasn't looking haha.

The freshly-baked Ginger Spiced Orange Candied Scone and Madagascar Vanilla Scone were highly pleasing too. Best accompanied by clotted cream and homemade jams.

By the time the Char Siew Turkey & Cranberry Pie, and Chestnut & Mushroom Roll with red onion jam were served, frankly I was feeling rather full but it was well-worth the tummy squeeze. Glad I didn't give the pastries a pass.

And finally, the two-tier dessert stand is presented!

Filled with exquisite delights including Cinnamon Cherry Chocolate Mousse, Pecan Fragipane Tart, Sengana Strawberry Roll, Christmas Fruit Cake with Spiced Meringue, Christmas Chocolate Logcake, and Chestnut Pain de Genes with Chantilly Cream, it was such a sweet ending to the afternoon tea indulgence.
