Afternoon tea time in the office today was brightened up with adorable buns from BreadTalk! My colleagues who saw the breads were gushing about how cute it all looked, especially Horseperity, the one which has the unmistakable look of the horse. Together with Lucky Charm which is designed to resemble a horseshoe, both are specially created to aptly usher in the Chinese New Year of the Horse!
Not only does this delicious selection of Chinese New Year buns have auspicious sounding names and takes on the form of gold ingots and good luck Mandarin oranges, they are also filled with festive treats like bak kwa (sweet barbequed pork), and ingredients which symbolizes prosperity such as pineapple ('ong lai'- fortune is coming!). Everyone loves to eat, and everyone wants to be properous (huat ah!). Needless to say, all the buns were finished in no time.
Should get more of these Chinese New Year buns before they're gone.
Available at all BreadTalk outlets from now to February 14, 2014.
