Today 16th June 2019 is a happy day to remember because..... Gram Cafe & Pancakes is officially opening at Singapore's Vivocity!
Hailing from Osaka, the famous souffle pancakes specialist is best known for its impossibly fluffy pancakes. You may have seen those stacks of wobbly goodness jiggling their way through social media.
Blessed you if you already had a taste of Gram's pancakes at their shops in Japan or Thailand, but if you have not, here's your chance to do so right here at home.
We were told that the pancakes are made with premium ingredients, whipped full of air for that fluffy texture which is said to be cloud-like, before being slow-cooked on low heat using masterful technique.
The signature Premium Pancakes ($17.90) are prepared upon receipt of order, and limited to 3 times a day with 30 servings each time.
Do mark down the timings: 11am, 3pm and 6pm.
Fresh and quality stuff takes time indeed so no choice but to exercise some patience on our part. I would rather wait a little more rather than get something that's prepared beforehand.
Finally, we got the souffle pancakes in our hands!!!
Each serving comprises of three 4cm thick pancakes, and is accompanied with Gram original butter, housemade whipped cream, and sweet maple syrup.
From the moment our knife slided through the pancake, we could already tell how soft and pillowy it is. Indeed, each bite yielded such ethereal bliss in the mouth! That texture is win Win WIN!
The pancake's delicate eggy aroma was highly pleasant, and I went really generous on the butter, cream, and maple syrup which made it extra delicious.
Also hogging the limelight is the Rich Tiramisu Pancakes ($15.90), a beautiful tower of classic pancakes sandwiched with Mascarpone tiramisu cream, and topped with cocoa powder and cream.
Sweet, rich, and with a coffee fragrance, the tiramisu pancake was heavier on the palate compared to the light simplicity of the souffle pancakes.
Other recommended items on the menu includes French Toast Of Chocolate Banana ($15.90), Caramelized Banana Pancakes ($13.90), Mixed Fruits & Chocolate Pancakes ($15.90), and Coconut Custard Pancakes ($13.90).
There's even savoury options like Turkey Bacon & Scrambled Egg Pancakes ($18.90), and Chili Bean Pancakes ($18.90) served with chili bean sauce, cheddar cheese, sausage, potatoes and side salad.
We can also look forward to a special Japanese Curry Pancakes creation, as well as the Premium To Go takeout set which will be launched at a later date.
