Jamie's Italian Singapore At Vivocity & Forum Shopping Mall Presents Its Christmas Festive Menus for 2016!

I went naked at my virgin Christmas dinner this year! Oops, I mean I went to the "naked chef" Jamie Oliver's restaurant, Jamie's Italian! Lol!

Though there were reports that the man himself did privately cooked in the nude for his wife before, he is better known as the British celebrity chef who undo food down to its bare essentials, and for campaigning against the use of processed food in national schools. The "naked chef".

From 28th November to 31st December 2016, diners can enjoy a duo of Christmas menus featuring Italian classics with a Jamie Oliver twist.

No worries, you may keep your clothes on. Please stay warm. It's Christmas :)

Do bring along an empty stomach too as dishes from the festive 3-course Lunch ($49.90++ per person) and 3-course Dinner ($65.90++) menu can add up to be rather substantial.

I reckon it is designed in such a way that couples or small groups can choose different items from the selection of Starters, Mains and Desserts to share, and portion is sufficient for everyone to try a bit of everything.

Both menus come with a welcome glass of bubbly. Guests can also supplement their menu with a glass of limoncello for an additional $5.50++ and a cup of coffee or tea at $3.50++ per person.

For starters, highlights includes Celeriac & Truffle Soup, Smoked Salmon Crostini and Bresaola Salad.

Mains options are varied with the likes of Sea Bass with Steamed Mussels in chili, fennel & garlic broth, Wild Mushroom Pappardelle, Free-range Slow-cooked Pork Belly, Roasted Baby Chicken, and Chargrilled Dry-aged Sirloin Steak served with truffle butter.

Our table did the "share share eat" thingy and found our favorites.

We all unanimously agreed that the Festive Italian Pate was a standout. No arguments about that.

It may not be the prettiest dish, looking dull even, but the pate made with vin santo-infused chicken liver and parmesan was silky smooth and smacked of piquant yumminess especially when paired with toasted ciabatta.

If Italian antipasti are meant to be enticing first bites to stimulate the appetite, this pate has performed its role exceedingly well.

The Bresaola Salad made an impression too with its harmonious combination of cured beef slices, creamy ricotta, sliced pears, garden leaves and toasted almonds with parmesan and aged balsamic.

I enjoyed the succulent tenderness of the Roasted Baby Chicken as well. This was served with pork sausage stuffing wrapped in pancetta.

Pasta lovers would be pleased to know that Jamie's Italian prepared theirs fresh everyday on premises.

The Wild Mushroom Pappardelle tossed in a garlicky porcini mushroom sauce with fresh chili and lemony gremolata was quite well-received too.

All mains come with sides of Rosemary Roast Potatoes and Roasted Root Vegetables such as Brussels sprouts, celeriac and butternut squash.

For desserts, the Lemon Tart is not to be missed. Its tangy kick was indeed welcoming after the hearty feasting.

But if you 're the type who goes by the motto of "it's not dessert if it's not chocolate", there is always the Epic Brownie of warm fudgy goodness served with amaretto ice cream and caramelized popcorn.

Tiramisu Pavlova is another sweet chocolatey treat with gooey meringue topped with dark chocolate ice cream, smashed hazelnuts and hot chocolate sauce.

I had a good starting experience with Jamie's Italian when it first opened in Vivocity 3 years back, but somehow meals from the visits after that went down south in terms of taste.

This recent visit to try the Christmas menu revived my faith in their offerings again. It's not to the point of perfect love yet, but we do see the hope.

Faith, Hope and Love. Merry Christmas and Happy Feasting, everyone! :D
