Jollibee Singapore ~ Popular Fried Chicken Place At Lucky Plaza Opens 2 New Outlets At Square 2 (Novena) & Changi City Point

After 2 years of arriving in Singapore and satisfying the crowds with fried chicken at their "perpetually-long queue" outlets at Lucky Plaza, Jollibee Singapore finally ventures out of Orchard Road to Square 2 (Novena) and far far east Changi City Point.

By now, most of us would probably not be unfamiliar with this popular fast food restaurant chain that hails from Philippines. It has more than 800 branches worldwide, best known for their ChickenJoy (fried chicken), YumBurgers (burgers), Jolly Spaghetti and Rice Meal.

Ehh.... But this happened to be the first visit for PinkyPiggu! She who loves fried chicken??? Friends were surprised! Lol.

As it was only 9plus in the morning, I did not see any of the reputed queue but a friend who went over in the evening had to wait in line for around 20 mins. Still manageable lah, if you're not in a hurry for time, nor keen on the other food options in the area.

A 2-pc Chicken ($6.95) / 3-pc Chicken ($9.50) set which includes choice of regular side (rice, fries or mashed potato) will suit an individual's self-indulgence, while bigger groups can get the 6-pc Chickenjoy Bucket ($16) or Bucket Meal ($29) to share.

So, are Jollibee's fried chicken "crispylicious" and "juicylicious" like what their advertising taglines claims? I'm happy to say..... YES!

The crunch of the perfectly crispy batter was especially pleasing, accompanied by tender meat that burst with such lovely succulence. Good enough on its own, but the dipping sauce (which somewhat reminded me of a mashed potato gravy from another fried chicken store) gave it another level of enjoyment.

Tried the spicy version as well, and it did packed sufficient heat with reasonable shiokness. Best, the fried chicken pieces were non at all greasy. Two thumbs up!

Other items on the menu unfortunately bordered on being mediocre. The Crispy Chicken Burger ($5 / $7 with fries & drink) featured a nice thick chunk of fried chicken, but was paired with generic sesame bun and got increasingly salty after a few bites.

Jolly Spaghetti ($3.20 / $4.40 with drink) leaned to the softer side with a sweetish sauce that doesn't quite resonate with my maturing tastebuds either. Perhaps kids will like it better.

My recommendation would be to stay with the fried chicken. Hard to go wrong, unless standards are not maintained. At this point, I can safely say Jollibee serves one of the best fast food-style fried chicken in Singapore.
