Anti:Dote @ Fairmont Singapore ~ A Delightful Afternoon Tea Experience
My first time to Anti:Dote at Fairmont Singapore was specially to try their innovative foie gras tapas, and it left an indelible delicious memory.
So it was a natural decision to make a return visit to the modern cocktail bar when we did a weekend staycation at the hotel recently. Anti:Dote's other offerings were calling out to me! Lol!
This time round, we went for their Afternoon Tea which has garnered quite a bit of positive reviews from what I read online. Our own experience wasn't too bad at all too.
We were presented with two menu choices, the Antidote Tea or Oriental Tea, each priced at $45++ per person.
Both sets includes a host of sandwiches and desserts, as well as scones and choice of Coffee or TWG Tea to go with it. If Champagne is your beverage preference, there is an additional charge of $15++.
The only difference between the two afternoon tea sets are the starters.
One came with the Black Truffle Scrambled Egg, the other was a Dim Sum Platter including both steamed and deep-fried items.
While the dim sum was a disappointment of lacklustre execution in most parts, the scrambled egg pleased immensely with its creamy texture and lingering scent of truffle.
Highlight was undoubtedly the moment when the (tall and dashing!) server brought over a chest of white drawers which opened up to those sweet and savory indulgence we have been waiting for!
The savories include Smoked Salmon with lemon & dill cream cheese and ikura roe, Boston Lobster Roll, Iberico Ham Quiche, Confit Duck Rillette and Coronation Curried Chicken, as well as Raisin and Candid Ginger Scones.
All were in dainty sizes which was a good thing because it meant that our tummies had sufficient space to contain it all.
The sweet treats were no less exquisite, comprising of delicately crafted Strawberry Gateau, Limoncino Napoleon, Cappuccino Comtessa, Framboise Lychee Macaron, Red Cherry Rose Ball, Karakera Chocolate Mirror Tart, Chocolate Pralines, Butter Cookies and Chocolate-dipped Strawberry.
Service was attentive and efficient, rounding it all up to be a delightful afternoon tea session at Anti:Dote.
Greatly recommended :)
