Poulet X Celebrity Chef Justin Quek Collaboration! Be Sure To Catch The Delicious Limited-Time Menu Before It's Gone

Whenever I'm at the French rotisserie chicken chain Poulet, my standard order is always their amazing roast chicken but this time round, I was lured by its limited-time menu born of a special collaboration with celebrity chef Justin Quek.

Chef's Justin is famed for his expertise in French fine dining and deep understanding of Asian cuisines. His Franco-Asian cuisine is represented by his signature dishes such as foie gras xiao long bao, and lobster Hokkein noodles.

I was rather excited to see what chef Justin has specially created for Poulet. Happy to say the dishes were super satisfying, and very much worthy of the trip over.

The three new dishes that you can expect from the exclusive menu are:-

  • En Papillotes Baked Seabass (S$15.90++) ~ Seabass, steam-baked with white wine and au jus in baking paper, placed on a bed of julienne vegetables and served with lemon beurre blanc.
  • Rossini Angus Beef Steak (S$28.90++) ~ Grain-fed sirloin steak with pan-seared foie gras, placed on a bed of creamy baby spinach and served with a Madeira wine sauce.
  • Crème Chantilly Bitter Chocolate Tart (S$8.90++) ~ Guayaquil bitter chocolate with Sablé biscuit base, topped with vanilla whipped cream and strawberry

My friend and I were most impressed by the quality of the ingredients, and how well-executed the dishes were. For instance, the seabass was indisputably fresh, and cooked to an ideal tender and moist texture. Foie gras was of a generous portion, and paired brilliantly with the succulent Angus beef which is done in perfect medium-rare. The chocolate tart had that balanced note of pleasant bitterness, and was thankfully devoid of any cloying sweetness.

Best of all, prices are kept so affordable. Nowadays we have to pay around the same price or even more for sub-standard food at some overpriced cafes. What we had at Poulet can be considered quite a steal for the quality we're getting.

"The dishes I have created for this collaboration with Poulet are a selection of beloved French classics. I hope to lend my culinary expertise and knowledge to the menu at Poulet, and to broaden Singaporean diners' perspectives on what French food can be like," said Chef Justin Quek.

Chef Justin's creations will be available at the following Poulet outlets from 26th February 2019, rolled out in four phases:
