Ultimate Crab Feast @ Plaza Brasserie, PARKROYAL On Beach Road ~ The Eat-All-You-Can Crab Buffet Is Back!

Plaza Brasserie at PARKROYAL on Beach Road's signature Ultimate Crab Feast is back for the 5th year running!

From now till 30th September 2016, crab lovers can look forward to enjoying a wide variety of crabs flavors, ranging from classics such as Chili Crab, and Black Pepper Crab to the 6 newly-introduced unique creations such as Coffee Crab, Ginger Broth Crab and Wasabi Salted Egg Yolk Crab specially concocted by the culinary team.

If you are looking for a buffet overloading with a free-flow supply of these mouth-watering crustacean delights, this is it! I don't mind. I love crabs! Bring it on!

But wait..... there are more than crabs to meet the eye. The "Ultimate Crab Feast" is also complemented by a "Best of Asia" buffet spread!

Featuring predominately home-grown favorites and Asian delights, the line-up includes Chilled Seafood such as Canadian Snow Crabs (Mondays to Wednesdays till 31st July 2016) and Oyster (Monday to Wednesdays in months of August & September 2016), Sushi and Sashimi, hot dishes like Fried Chicken Wings, Roasted Pork and Roasted Duck, as well as freshly-prepared Steamed Fish and Noodle items from the live stations.

These would easily suit most local tastebuds.

The variety of dishes featuring crabs as the star ingredient are mind-boggling. We practically lost count after the 5th dish.

For the traditionalist, there are signature flavors such as Black Pepper Crab, White Pepper Crab, Cereal Crab, Chili Crab, and Salted Egg Yolk Crab.

Spanish Crabs and Mediterranean Crabs also joined the repertoire this year, but I say, go for the adventurous offerings such as bitter-sweet Coffee Crabs and sourish Assam Crabs.

The Petai Crab was undoubtedly very interesting. Huge, crunchy stir-fried petai beans paired with savory crabs was definitely a first for me, and guess what, the pairing is deliciously successful!

Another must-try is the dry-style Kam Heong Crab bursting with fragrance of spices.

Wasabi Salted Egg Yolk Crab? The unlikely union of these two distinct flavors actually worked out well, providing surprises in each bite.

The personal favorite of PinkyPiggu and me is the..... Claypot Ginger Broth Crab! Steaming hot, rich and gingerly milky soup paired with juicy crab meat makes this an unanimous hit on our table.

Other crab-inspired dishes includes Crab Meatballs with Potato, Curry Crab Meat in Kueh Pie Tee, Crab Meat Chawanmushi, Breaded Crab Cake, Crab Masala Curry, and also Chinese-style Crab Meat Soup.

However, it is inevitable in buffet-style food presentation whereby crabs are cooked and left on chafers, resulting in a small number being a little bit dry and overcooked.

Overall, the crab feast at Plaza Brasserie definitely hits the right notes for crustacean lovers with a comprehensive list of crab dishes.

With the ever increasing prices of food, especially seafood in general, a crab-themed buffet provides considerable value for diners to enjoy both variety and quantity in a single sitting.
