Just got back to Singapore and I'm off to Two Wings, considered by many to be the best chicken wings stall in Singapore, for some deep-fried chicken wings goodness! Miss you much much!
It is my first time to their latest outlet at Timbre+ One North, a shipping container and food truck-style gastropark with graffiti walls, live music, a gastronomic mix of 35 restaurant brands and hawker stalls. Wow, this must be the most hipster hawker centre in Singapore currently.
Sharp-eyed patrons of Two Wings might have noticed something new printed on the menu recently (there's no pictures of the item yet): CHILLI CRAB WINGS!
Oh yes Yes YESSSSSSSSSS!!!

Two Wings' signature crispy, succulent chicken wings coated in a spicy-sweet chili crab sauce? The mere mention of it is enough to make me salivate.
The union came about after owner-chef Jeremy wanted to create a new flavor that is reflective of our local cuisine.
There is already the Original wings (adapted from a heritage recipe by Jeremy's grandfather), the Salted Egg Yolk wings (which rides on the popular salted-egg-yolk-anything trend), so why not a WINg combination with Chili Crab, one of our well-loved local delicacies? WIN liao!
The chili crab sauce is certainly well-executed! Sweetness level is just about right, with sufficient savory spiciness to provide some heat yet staying within the comfort zone. The addition of egg white provides that extra bit of texture.
Taste is balanced, flavors are great, with a most ideal consistency to coat the deep-fried wings perfectly without being too drippy or overly starchy.
Each bite of these Chili Crab Wings yielded so much yummy happiness!
Also not to be missed is the Salted Egg Yolk Wing for salted egg yolk lovers who enjoy the piquant savoriness of salted egg yolk sauce that is enhanced with chili padi and curry leaves. Way way way too addictive. I licked all the sauce off my fingers lol!
Of course, there is still the original Heritage wings, good enough on its own, but best dipped in the zesty homemade chicken rice-style chili sauce for a 'match made in heaven' taste.
All three flavors are priced at Ala-carte (wing & drums) 6pcs-$8.90, 9pcs-$12.90, 12pcs-$16.90, 20pcs-$27.90, 50pcs-$69.90 and Combo (wings & drums + fries & drink) 4pcs-$8.90, 6pcs-$12.90, 9pcs-$16.90.
If you come during lunch time, there is the chicken wing Sampler Meal at $10.90 which allows you to try all the 3 flavors (6pcs wings & drum) together with fries and ice lemon tea.
Half-Spring Chicken Meal ($10.90), Popcorn Chicken Meal ($9.90), Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Chop ($10.90), as well as Boneless Chicken ($12.90) are also available. For sides, there are French Fries ($4.90), Sweet Potato Fries ($5.90) and Luncheon Meat Fries ($6.90).
For a chicken wing lover like myself, I'm immensely happy to be constantly surrounded by delicious wings, with never-ending chances to indulge in different renditions in this little cosmopolitan island of ours. Who can resist those garlicky soy sauce Korean fried chicken? Me? Never!
But when local or overseas friends ask me where to find the BEST CHICKEN WINGS in Singapore, I always recommend my personal favorite, TWO WINGS!
Our homegrown brand, our heritage recipe, now with our own distinctive local flavor. Truly Singaporean!
Two Wings is the winning wings we can be absolutely proud of!
