Crystal Jade Prestige @ Marina Bay Financial Centre Presents Signature Weekend Brunch!

Weekend brunch alert! This time with dim sum and option of free flow Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Champagne!

For every weekend from 1 May to 26 Jun between 11.30am to 3pm, the Crystal Jade Prestige Signature Weekend Brunch presents a sumptuous 10-course weekend brunch set priced at $58 per person, or $98 per person with champagne ($48 or $88 for DBS/POSB/Jadeite members).

We were quite late in getting to this special promotion which runs for a limited period, but better late than never. For those who have yet to decide on a place to celebrate the upcoming Father's Day this Sunday, there is still time to make a reservation.

Menu wise, we can customize it to our preference by picking 10 items from 5 different categories including Appetizer (1), Dim Sum (5), Roast Meat (1), Soup (1), Wok-fried Dish (1) and Dessert (1).

One thing to take note is that there is no flexibility for individual portion. Diners on the same table has to reach consensus and go for the same selection, and quantity served will be accordingly to the number of guest.

For instance, there were four of us. I chose Steamed Shanghai Xiao Long Bao as one of the dim sum items so we got four pieces of that. Everyone had to eat xiao long bao with me. Thank you very much.

Other dim sum recommendations include Poached Beancurd Skin rolled with Prawn in Superior Broth, Baked Abalone & Diced Chicken Pastry, and Deep-fried Dumpling with Chinese Parsley.

Steamed Dumpling with Shrimp & Black Garlic was exceeding enjoyable with plump and succulent shrimp enveloped in a layer of skillfully-made thin and translucent skin. Love the black garlic which provided a tinge of pleasant sweetness.

Perennial favorite siew mai gets a beautiful twist too as the Steamed Pork & Shrimp Dumpling with Caviar came topped with luxurious fish roe.

For roast selection, go go go for the Crispy Pork Belly with that moreish biscuity skin. Other choices include BBQ Pork with Honey Sauce, as well as Soya Sauce Chicken with Rose Wine.

If Chilled Pig's Ear sounds too exotic for an appetizer dish, Deep-fried Fish Skin with Salt & Pepper would perhaps be a more conventional choice. Our order of Deep-fried Cod Fish Cube with Passionfruit Sauce was a surprise pairing that actually worked!

I was told that wok-fried dishes such as Kurobuta Pork with Wid Fungus in Chef's Special Sauce and Sautéed Prawn with White Pine Mushroom & Black Truffle Sauce are very popular with diners too.

Our brunch rounded up with some refreshing desserts including Chilled Mango Purée with Pomelo & Sago, Lemongrass Jelly & Sour Plum in Lime, and Chilled Black Sesame with Coconut Milk.

As the food are mostly bite-sized and portion isn't very big, hearty appetites might want to consider ordering the Signature Tea Smoked Roasted Duck (special add-on price $48 / usual price $78), or additional dishes from the ala-carte menu to make the meal more substantial. Something seems lacking without the usual rice or noodle course.

But I guess for those who love your bubblies, the endless rounds of champagne is already worth the price of the entire brunch.
