I'm really enjoying that restaurants in Singapore are always refreshing their menus with seasonal items because it means foodies like us will always have something new to look forward to every few months.
For this July and August, Japanese restaurant Unagiya Ichinoji is offering their seasonal menu which celebrates the best harvests of summer. There's four new dishes to discover!
Time to head over to its outlets at Robertson Quay and Suntec City.
The Ichinoji Cold Somen ($29.80) is the most ideal noodle dish to beat the relentless heat we're experiencing right now.
Doused in chilled dashi, the slurpilicious somen provided an invigorating feel in every bite. The bowl is also generously topped with Unagiya Ichinoji's signature charcoal-grilled unagi, smoked duck, and Hokkaido snow crab claw specially-flown in from Japan. Accompanied with sides of salmon sashimi and unagi chawanmushi, the set made a very substantial meal.
Seafood and rice lovers will appreciate the Ichinoji Summer Ocean Mixed Box ($36.80) brimming with charcoal-grilled Hokkaido scallops, unagi, fresh maguro sashimi, Hokkaido snow crab claw, crab meat, egg and tobiko.
Besides the main courses, two chilled appetisers are also available on the summer menu.
The Maguro Tartar with Yuzu Jelly ($7.80) was delighfully refreshing, while Salmon Tartar Ichinoji-Style ($7.80) features diced salmon with avocado in crisp Chinese wanton skin.
