Enjoy Xia Hokkein Mee Kitchen @ Jalan Besar ~ Is This The Best In Singapore?

"The Best Hokkein Mee in Singapore" - I was checking out Enjoy Xia Hokkein Mee Kitchen on Instagram when this grandiose phrase on their profile attracted us to make a visit.

Enjoy Xia Hokkein Mee Kitchen is rebranded from Enjoy Eating House & Bar, taking over its original location at Kam Leng Hotel along Jalan Besar.

Launched as a new pop-up concept, the menu shines the spotlight on its signature Hokkein Mee. The dish was first offered by Enjoy Eating House for delivery back in 2021 during the covid pandemic, and was always sold out.

Customers who love the dish would be thrilled to know that they can now eat it every day if they want :D

How's Catering ~ Delicious iHeat Self Heating Mini Buffet for Parent's Day

It's only one week away to Mother's Day! Have you made plans for your mother yet?

Besides restaurant dining, catering service is a good option to explore if your family (like mine) prefers to enjoy a meal away from the crowd. How's Catering (under Neo Group) seems to be reliable as the brand has been established since 1991.

I mean, if the business can survive in this competitive F&B industry for over 30 years, the food and service should be rather good right? According to its website, their kitchen is graded A, food handlers are food hygiene-trained and certified, kitchen and workflow comply with the ISO 22000 standard.

All seems well and I see mostly positive online reviews from customers. So we went ahead to try its Parent's Day Oriental Menu and were... impressed!

But... Otah Mantou?!! The product is newly-launched today, and I was curious to try this fresh take on the classics.

肖战代言 ~ 开小灶自热米饭 | Kai Xiao Zao Self-Heating Instant Rice ~ Endorsed By Xiao Zhan, Hottest Male Actor In China

Piping hot rice meal that takes only 15 minutes to be ready? A product that has the hottest male celebrity in China right now as its brand ambassador?!!

I'm totally sold. Why wouldn't I when 肖战 (Xiao Zhan) holds a spoonful of rice, looks at me the camera, and asks, "想不想吃?" ("want to eat?") as my tummy grumbled. My heart melted at the same time too. Omg what a potent double strike!

Touted to be a combination of "instant cooking technology" with "Northeast China rice and exquisite cooking techniques", the self-heating instant rice is produced by 开小灶 (Kai Xiao Zao), a brand under 統一企業 (Uni-President) which also manufactures beverages and instant noodles.

Dip 'n' Go by Old Chang Kee @ Woodlands MRT Station ~ FRIED CHICKEN SKINS! The Perfect Snack For All Times!

Calories matter less when it comes to your favourite snack! That's the inexcusable excuse I always use to overcome the guilt whenever I place an order for FRIED CHICKEN SKINS at Dip 'n' Go, which is becoming way too often nowadays. Oh no!

But it always turns into more of a "Oh YES!!!" moment once I bite into those pieces of fried chicken skins. The sound of cracking skins is melodious on the ears, and its savoury tastiness is like fireworks exploding in my mouth.

Best paired with Cheddar Cheese Dip for an "screw-that-diet-plan" indulgence!

Fast forward a few months later, Charmaine's dream of opening a bakery cafe is materialized as Café Bakeholic opened its doors to welcome its dine-in customers just before Christmas.

Premium Benja Chicken From Thailand Is Now In Singapore! Try It At One-Michelin-Starred Alma by Juan Amador, Goodwood Park Hotel

Most of us are familiar with premium meats such as Wagyu beef and Kurobuta pork, but... Benja Chicken?

UFarm's Benja Chicken is the world's first brown rice-fed chicken that hails from Thailand! Raised in carefully controlled, cage-free farm and fed on brown rice, the chicken is said to boast a rich flavour profile, and is more tender and juicier than the usual chicken meat by 55%! No wonder Benja Chicken is preferred by chefs of Michelin-starred restaurants such as Saneh Jaan, Siam Wisdom, and Paste.

We had our first taste of highly-lauded Benja Chicken here in Singapore at one-Michelin-starred Alma by Juan Amador, and were duly-impressed.
