HEYTEA 喜茶 @ ION Orchard ~ China's Most Popular Tea Has Arrived in Singapore!

Hey hey! Know what? HEYTEA 喜茶 from China has arrived in Singapore!

For the uninitiated, HEYTEA is the original inventor of trendsetting cheese tea. The brand is widely-considered to be China's number one contemporary tea connoisseur, and most popular iconic tea brand. Their 110 outlets spans across 17 major cities in China including Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. Singapore is its first-ever overseas store.

What's so outstanding about their cheese tea that someone actually broke the longest record time by queuing for 7 hours just to get a cup? We went to the ION Orchard store to find out.

From the menu, we can see that HEYTEA does not serve the conventional cup of milk tea. Categorised into Cheezo Tea, Pure Tea, Fruity Boom, and Berry Mango, each range comes with different flavor options.

The key ingredients used to create HEYTEA's beverages include high quality tea leaves from different regions, natural rock sugar, and natural cheese. The flavour profiles of each tea is meticulously curated and exclusive to HEYTEA.

Besides the signature Tea King Ice Cream ($2.80) which I really like, there's also the brand-new Durian Ice Cream ($4.80), and Salted Egg Yolk Ice Cream ($4.80) specially created for Singapore!

The must-try is of course the Cheezo Tea range, which combines tea with a layer of frothy cheese foam!

My choice of King Fone ($5.50) uses premium oolong teas leaves that have undergone a special smoking process to bring out their fragrance. Indeed, each sip leaves a strong, lingering oolong flavor that's very intoxicating, with salty cheese foam adding an interesting depth.

The cheese foam surprisingly sits very lightly on the palate and tummy. Nice!!!

I was also recommended the Strawberry Cheezo ($8.30), a marriage of strawberry, jasmine green tea and cheese foam, which is one of HEYTEA's most popular drinks.

My guess is that the refreshing Grapefruit Boom ($5.90) with jasmine green tea and grapefruit slices would be very well-received too!
