♥♥♥ Experiencelism & Experimentalism ♥♥♥

Hello everyone!

This is Nicole Poi, the writer and photographer of this PinkyPiggu's food blog where I share my dining experiences and cooking experiments!

Why PinkyPiggu? Because I love all things pink and can't stop eating... like a pig! lol

Experiencelism ~ My Dining Experiences

An avid lover of all things yummy, it has always been my wish to have a blog where I can diarized my journey of gastronomic adventures. I love to check out new places for food, very zealous in taking food photos and posting them on my Facebook and Instagram. Friends has been asking where the food is from, if the food nice etc, so blogging about it seems to be the next most natural thing to do. I want to tell the story behind my photos to all who are interested to know.

It finally materialized in September 2012 when I stopped thinking about all the stuffs which had been holding me back: Lack of time, too busy eating, laziness, amateur photography skills, CMI grammar, my limited vocabulary (how many ways can you say delicious huh??)... etc. I even imagined that some food bloggers/critics whom I know personally will laugh at my writing! Haha a lot of excuses, I know. But finally, I stopped procrastinating, when I read a devotional on that very fateful day. TYL :)

"... I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts..." Hebrews 8:10

What is on your heart? You can trust the promptings of your heart because God dwells in you, and He leads you from within.

So, I decided to cast all cares aside, lean on Him and go ahead to do what I always wanted to do. I may not be the most eloquent of writers, but I soon realized that blogging isn't about scoring an 'A' in composition writing. When I looked back on all the posts I wrote, I do not want to remember solely the taste of the food. Every meal is a blessing, it is to be enjoyed and not just a tummy filler. I want to remember why I was there, the people whom I’m with, the feelings I had felt back then. This is what my blog is about.

Taste is very subjective to each individual. While we may not always have corresponding views of the same dish, it's always interesting to hear different opinions. I would like to thank my family and friends for contributing their comments during our makan sessions, and creating our memories of it together. Thank you too, for being understanding and patient when I need to take the photos of the food before eating.

Experimentalism ~ My Cooking Experiments

I'm also a novice cook who loves experimenting in my kitchen, sometimes making do with whatever I have left in the fridge lol. Having grew up in a family where I watched my mum preparing home-style dishes in the kitchen for us everyday definitely played a part in igniting my interest in cooking. While I do enjoy baking as well, I much prefer cooking which is less rigid, allowing me to cook by the feel of the moment. Recipe ideas are usually born out of my supermarketing trips. My motto for cooking is ~ minimum ingredients, minimum fuss. The best meal is the one cooked with love.

I hope you will enjoy reading the Experiencelism and Experimentalism of PinkyPiggu :)
